Applies to products sold by Freedom Fabrication (ABN 92 663 200 191). This policy works alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Policy Contents

Australian Consumer Law

Our aluminium ute trays, custom toolboxes, and canopies come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Lifetime Structural Warranty

Freedom Fabrication offers a Lifetime Structural Warranty on the tray chassis, headboard, side rails, and all welded joints, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Warranty applies only to the original purchaser.

  • Warranty applies only where the product is supplied and installed by Freedom Fabrication or an authorised installer.

  • Warranty is non-transferable and tied to the original vehicle.

  • Coverage is limited to repair or replacement of the defective structural component.

  • Liability does not extend to indirect or consequential losses (e.g. downtime, lost income, or damage to other property).

  • All fabrication work is carried out in line with Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 1554 (Welding of Steel Structures).

This warranty applies to all Freedom Fabrication ute trays, toolboxes, and canopies installed by our team.

Commercial, Mining & Fleet Use

Products used in commercial, mining, civil, fleet or hire-vehicle applications are excluded from Lifetime Warranty.
Instead, a 12-month structural warranty is provided, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

This limited warranty does not cover:

  • Excessive wear beyond normal operation.

  • Impact damage, abuse, or accidents.

  • Corrosion caused by harsh environments (saltwater, chemicals, corrosive materials).

  • Loads or operation outside the rated design limits.

Exclusions

The following are not covered under warranty:

  • Powder-coat or paint finishes (scratches, stone chips, fading, corrosion from neglect).

  • Electrical, lighting, rubber seals, and consumables.

  • Drawer slides, gas struts, locks, hinges, and other third-party accessories (these are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty — Freedom Fabrication will assist where possible).

  • Modifications or improper installation by third parties.

  • Damage from misuse, overloading, competition use, or off-road use beyond the intended design.

  • Lack of maintenance, including failure to wash down after salt exposure, check fasteners, or repair coatings.

Returns & Refunds

As most Freedom Fabrication products are custom built, we do not accept change-of-mind returns.
Refunds or replacements will be provided only when:

  • The product has a major defect or fault, or

  • Required by the Australian Consumer Law.

Where the issue is minor, we will repair the product within a reasonable timeframe.

Warranty & Claim Process

Because our products are large and custom fitted, warranty claims are generally handled through inspection..

To start a claim, click the “Start a Claim” button or email sales@freedomfab.com.au with:

  • Your order or invoice number

  • Photos of the fault (close-up + overall vehicle)

  • A brief description of the issue

Our team will review your claim within 1 business day and advise the next steps.

  • In most cases, customers will be asked to bring their vehicle to our Yanchep workshop for inspection and repair.

  • For commercial/mining clients, remote inspection (via photos or video) may be arranged, and further steps agreed on a case-by-case basis.
